Welcome Message from the President of the Royal college of Surgeons of Thailand
Dear Colleagues and Fellow Members of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 35th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand (RCST) which, this year, will be jointly held with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) from 25-28 July 2010 in Pattaya, Thailand. This meeting is to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Annual Scientific Meeting of the RCST as well as to recognize the long-standing relationship with the RACS and to honour the 100th birthday anniversary of the late Professor Udom Poshakrishna, co-founder and the first President of the RCST. Our heartfelt thanks go to Professor Ian Gough, President of the RACS and his executive Council Members who have been very supportive and enthusiastic in organizing this joint meeting.
The theme of the meeting is “Surgical Practice under Today’s Circumstances”. We are delighted and honoured to have the presence of many internationally recognized invited speakers, especially from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, South Africa, Italy and Japan, who will certainly provide a strong backbone for this conference. Our Scientific Committee Chair, Associate Professor Doctor Kriangsak Prasopsanti, and his team are working dedicatedly to deliver an exciting, up-to-date and productive programme which I am sure will be of great interest to you all.
Our local organizing committee led by Professor Soottiporn Chittmittrapap, working in concert with Professor David Watters and Dr. Michael Hollands, representatives from the RACS, has been working tirelessly to make this meeting a very fruitful and most enjoyable one. In addition to the outstanding scientific programme, you will also enjoy our social programme which includes the complimentary tour and the traditional Congress Dinner, so-called “RCST Family Night”, where colleagues and friends can meet and establish a network to foster their camaraderie. The Congress and Post-congress tours have been arranged to make certain that you and your accompanying persons will leave Thailand with unforgettable fond memories.
I earnestly hope that you will be able to take these few days off from your busy schedule to be with us during this meeting.
Looking forward to meeting with all of you soon.
