from the Chairman of the Organizing Committee

On behalf of the organizing committee of the 38th  Annual Scientific Congress of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand (RCST), I would like to welcome all the members of the RCST and all delegates to this congress.

The highlight of this year’s congress will be the Surgical Innovation, the Update Surgical Guidelines and the 10 year Anniversary of the ATLS in Thailand. The Surgical Innovation will provide the update advances in the surgical knowledge and practice in Thailand and Asian countries.  The new surgical guideline will contain the most update practical guidelines from every surgical specialty and subspecialty with references that will be applicable to everyday surgical practice in every part of Thailand. This year is the 10 year anniversary of the ATLS in Thailand, the ATLS committee of Thailand will take this opportunity to review the progress of the ATLS instruction course and inauguration of ASSET course in Thailand together with the most advanced and interesting information in trauma.

The congress will start with one day educational courses and workshops which will be most beneficial to young surgeons and residents in surgical training to learn and supervised hands on practice in many essential surgical courses and workshops. In the main congress, there will be many interesting multidisciplinary surgical principles in the complicated surgical problems. There will also be many separate sessions of all surgical specialties which will contain many plenary lectures, symposia and free oral presentations. All training surgical residents and fellows and members of the RCST are invited to submit their study and research work in both poster and oral presentation.

At the gala dinner, all participants will be entertained with many spectacular events, wide varieties of food and entertainment among all new and old friends. During the congress, there will also be many interesting sports for those who love to join, i.e. golf, tennis and badminton.

As Chairman of the organizing committee of the congress I can assure all participants that this congress will be one of the most memorable events as it will give you an ideal opportunity to gain many new information in the field of your surgical practice and also  enjoy all social events at the congress.
