Abstract (s)
Submission Guidelines:
- All submissions should be in English.
- Accepted abstracts will appear in the program book as submitted.
- The presentation file should be prepared on a CDR using Microsoft Windows XP/7/8 Operating system, PowerPoint 2003/2007/2010. The abstract should be typed using 10-point Times New Roman font, single line spacing and justified.
- An abstract should not exceed 400 words.
- 1-2 tables or graphs are allowed.
- Author’s name(s) is preceded by an initial (omit titles). There should not be more than 5 authors.
- An abstract should include the following components:
- Name and location of institution where the research was conducted
- Purpose of study
- Brief description of methods
- Summary of results
- Conclusions
- Standard abbreviations may be used. Non-standard abbreviations must appear in parentheses alongside the full term where first used in the text.
- The title of the abstract should be brief, but long enough to clearly identify the nature of the study. It should not exceed a total length of 3 lines and should be printed in capital letters.

Attention: Chairman of Scientific Committee
- The abstract must be received by June 30, 2013 together with full registration fee.
- All accepted materials for presentation must be given to the Congress Audio Visual Staff one day prior to the time of presentation.
- The committee will not be responsible for abstracts submitted incorrectly and therefore not reviewed.
Free Papers
Accepted free paper will be presented orally in allocated of 8 minutes followed by a 2-minute discussion period.
Posters
Each poster will be allocated a poster board. Poster size should be 90 cm width x 120 cm height. For poster competition, the presentation time and venue will be notified at least 2 weeks prior to the Congress. Authors are required to be present at their posters during the assigned time which will be 10 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes for discussion.
Audio-Visual Presentation
Authors are requested to submit the preview material with abstract of their presentation by electronic media (VCD/DVD) and send a copy for review to the Chairman of Scientific Committee by June 30, 2013. The media should be essentially of technical aspect and not longer than 10 minutes. Live narration by the principal surgeon is a requirement of participation. Avoid time consuming sequences and indicate clearly the view that is being shown, e.g. surgeon's view, overhead view, or view from the patient's head. Should the author wish to report results of series, the media itself should be shortened to 5 minutes.
Resident Award (only local participants are eligible)
- The award of Bht 20,000 is divided into amounts of Bht 16,000 and Bht 12,000 respectively. The institution of the award winners will also receive award in the same amount. However, there will be no obligation on the judging panel to give the award if the presentation quality does not meet the required standard. The decision of the Scientific Committee is considered final.
- Presenter should be resident. The research work should have been prepared during his/her residency training and has never been published before. Each paper submitted must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from his/her training program director.
- The abstract should be sent to the Chairman of Scientific Committee for evaluation not later than
June 30, 2010. The full text paper must accompany the abstract but will not be printed in the
Congress handbook.
- The presentation should be presented by its owner according to time and place specified by the Scientific Committee.
- Each presenter can submit not more than 2 papers. In case of multiple authors, the first author listed in the paper will be notified in writing of the committee’s decision at least 2 weeks prior to the Congress.
- Only those papers submitted with full text in the format suitable for publication in standard medical journal will be considered for presentation. Failure to do so will automatically exclude the paper from consideration.
- Contributed papers accepted on the Congress will be presented orally in allocated time of 8 minutes followed by a 2-minute discussion period.
